  • BOEHNER IN CALIFORNIA TO BAIL OUT DOUG OSE, RELIABLE VOTE FOR HIS PLAN TO PRIVATIZE SOCIAL SECURITY

Speaker John Boehner arrives in Sacramento today to wine, dine, and raise money with former Congressman Doug Ose, who supports Republicans’ radical plan to privatize Social Security. Following a poor second quarter which saw Ose trailing Bera by $1.8 million in cash on hand, Speaker Boehner becomes the latest fixture of the Republican establishment trying to prop up the Ose campaign.

  • ICYMI: THE SACRAMENTO BEE SAYS NRCC ATTACK ADS, "REHASH MISLEADING CLAIMS ON AMI BERA"

The Sacramento Bee has characterized the latest National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) attack ad against Dr. Ami Bera as, "misleading." In particular, the Bee criticizes the Republican outside group for "rehashing" ridiculous and completely false claims that Bera voted to cut Medicare by $700 billion, as well as for Republican criticism that Bera voted to raise the debt ceiling, despite the fact that former Congressman Doug Ose voted to raise the debt ceiling on three separate occasions during his time in Washington. • NEW AD HIGHLIGHTS BERA'S RECORD OF PROTECTING SOCIAL SECURITY, OSE'S RECORD OF GAMBLING SOCIAL SECURITY ON WALL STREET

The Bera for Congress campaign released its third TV ad of the 2014 general election today, a 30-second commercial called "Security."

The ad highlights the clear difference between Dr. Bera, who has kept his promise to refuse his Congressional pension until Social Security and Medicare are secure for this and future generations, and his opponent, former Congressman Doug Ose, who voted to privatize Social Security and gamble seniors' retirements on Wall Street, helping his own bottom line.

  • ICYMI: DOUG OSE’S RADICAL STANCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE A DANGER TO CALIFORNIA COMMUNITIES

In the latest example of how out of touch former Congressman Doug Ose is with Californians, at a press event last Friday he questioned whether global warming was real, referring to climate change science as “sketchy.” This comes a few months after telling the Sacramento Bee that government should not take action to combat global warming.

  • Rep. Ami Bera works to shed labels in tough re-election fight

By Christopher Cadelago and Curtis Tate

Following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address in January, Rep. Ami Bera joined in delivering a response on behalf of the group No Labels, a bipartisan coalition he says is working to build trust, find common ground and break the gridlock in Washington.

The president needs to work with both parties in Congress, said Bera, an Elk Grove Democrat. “We don’t just need a year of action. We need a government of collaboration.”

  • OUTSIDE-GROUP ATTACKS AGAINST BERA GROW INCREASINGLY DESPERATE

Yet another Republican outside group is attempting to prop up former Congressman Doug Ose by running misleading attack ads against Dr. Ami Bera. The National Republican Congressional Committee’s (NRCC) new ad tries to distort Bera’s clear record of finding bipartisan solutions and protecting and strengthening Medicare and defending against efforts to privatize Social Security.

  • ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL REPEAL, VOTERS SHOULD BEWARE OF CONGRESSMAN OSE'S ANTI-LGBT RECORD

Saturday marks three years since the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT), which prevented lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) Americans from serving openly in our military, but Sacramento voters should be wary of former Congressman Doug Ose's abysmal record on not only DADT, but his repeated votes against LGBT equality.

  • New ad highlights Bera's record of serving community, Ose's record of serving himself

The Bera for Congress campaign released its second TV ad of the 2014 general election today, a 30 second commercial called "Serve." The ad highlights the stark contrast between Dr. Bera, who has kept his promise to serve the people of Sacramento County, including championing the No Budget No Pay law and returning his pay during the Republican shutdown, and his opponent, former Congressman Doug Ose, who voted repeatedly to help himself and his wealthy friends on Wall Street at the expense of middle class families.
